This year, rather than doing your typical "lose weight" or "persevere" resolutions I've decided to do something a little different. This New Year, I'm going to count.
Since the dawn of the New Year, I have been counting the small trivial habits I do, such as biting my nails or cracking my jaw. This way, I can document my habits, whether good or bad. Not only will this show me how much time is spent doing things that may waste my time or be pointless and instead strive to get the maximum efficiency out of my body and my time.
I've also been counting my necessities such as making a bowel movement or the number of hours of sleep I get. Doing this can help me to manage my food intake or even take a look at variables in the way I sleep.
Doing this, I expect to get more out of the New Year (despite it not being any more significant than any other year beyond our own human perception), this provides not a goal, but a proactive way of making me better little by little, rather than throwing all my cards on the table and going for broke.
