Now don't get me wrong, I love Hans Zimmer's work. He has put out some of the best soundtracks for some of my favourite movies and honestly belongs in the world of film. But this was just atrocious.
The Amazing Spiderman 2's soundtrack was done by the Magnificent Six and Hans Zimmer. I know I shouldn't be putting this much emphasis on the Hans Zimmer part, but seriously, I think if he did it on his own this already crappy movie might have been made a bit less terrible. What pisses me off most is that in an interview Hans Zimmer came out and said: "I did not pick them (referring to the Magnificent Six and, more specifically, Pharell Williams) because they were famous, I picked them because they're really good" which is a complete and utter lie because the only person in the interview with him, and in all the promotional videos, is Pharell.
Anyone who knows anything about music can tell you how terrible this soundtrack is. Like, whose idea was it to include rhythmic whispering to the already crappy sounding background music? Because it sounds like a guy who learnt how to speak yesterday trying to give a speech after running 10 miles.
Nevertheless, hopefully Hans Zimmer will think twice before choosing someone "because they're really good".
