So, I was one of those people who was fully prepared for the Hunger Games to suck. But, when I was looking in to the movie a bit more so that I could make fun of it before it was even out, I discovered a light of shining hope. The Soundtrack. If you look on the Wikipedia, you'll see that within the soundtrack it contains some of the most pretentious and hipster bands doing the soundtrack. Carolina Chocolate Drops, The Low Anthem, the Decemberists. All doing original songs for the movie. Nevertheless, I was excited. So for the next few weeks, rather than being excited for how much I can make fun of it, I'm excited about it. So when it finally came out, I went and saw it with my family.
They weren't there.
They weren't there. Or I didn't hear them, I looked back on the Wikipedia to see if it was just a joke or I had made a mistake and right on the Wikipedia, still there, all the bands I was previously excited for. When the movie came out on Blu-Ray, I even went back and checked again, and it was not there.
To be honest, I think that all this was was a marketing tactic. A ploy to get skeptics like me to come see these movies. Hipsters who are aware that, just because something is popular. I mean the Low Anthem? No one listens to the Low Anthem! Except for me and like 2 of my friends. Nevertheless, I feel lied to and cheated.
Also the movie sucked.
